Department of Public Safety Investigates Bias Incident on Walnut Place

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is actively investigating a reported bias incident that occurred on Walnut Pl., on Wednesday, Nov. 4. Two female students reported that an unknown male yelled a comment from his vehicle’s window that is derogatory towards the LGBTQ community. The vehicle never came to a complete stop and drove off after the incident. DPS officers have met with the two impacted students and is reviewing evidence, including security camera footage. The vehicle is described as a red sports utility vehicle with a roof rack.
