The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is actively investigating a report of offensive language on a bulletin board on the 7th floor in Lawrinson Hall. The language which is described as offensive to the Jewish community was removed immediately.
“It is frustrating to see this kind of behavior on our campus, particularly while our Jewish community members celebrate Hannukah,” says DPS Chief Bobby Maldonado. “Our team is working diligently to identify the person or persons responsible for this conduct and encourage anyone with information to please come forward.”
Since the incident, DPS has:
- Completed a canvass of the area
- Interviewed residents
- Begun reviewing security footage
There are no suspects at this time. If you have information about this incident, please contact DPS at 315.443.2224. Anonymous tips can be reported to DPS through the Silent Witness tool or the Rave Guardian mobile app.
