Internal Affairs/Professional Standards Investigations 2013

For the 2013 calendar year, the Department of Public Safety conducted a total of eight (8) internal investigations.

Seven (7) involved sworn personnel.

One (1) involved non-sworn personnel.

Of the 8 complaints investigated, 7 were sustained and one was unfounded.

As a result of these complaints, two sworn employees were terminated and one sworn employee resigned.

Three sworn employees were suspended and one non-sworn employee was suspended.

No complaints that were received alleged racial profiling.

No complaints were received that alleged sexual harassment.

There does not appear to be any trends, policy, or training issues in these complaints.
