You can fill out our online bike registration form at any time.
The form will be sent to a member of our Crime Prevention team, who will complete the necessary paperwork and then contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to visit our office with your bicycle and pick up your registration sticker.
At your appointment, a member of DPS will affix your bicycle with a registration number and keep that information on record in the event of a theft.
If you do use a bicycle on campus, please keep these important safety recommendations in mind:
- Wear a helmet for your safety, and ensure that you are wearing it properly.
- Always obey the rules of the road. Know when you have the right of way and which side of the road you should be traveling on.
- Never wear headphones or earbuds when riding your bike.
- New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, Section 1236 includes requirements to have lights and reflectors on both the front and back of your bike if you are traveling after sunset, and a bell or another device capable of giving an audible signal.
