The Department of Public Safety (DPS) received accreditation from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) on March 2, 2015. This accreditation indicates that DPS utilizes the best policies and practices in delivering law enforcement services in a campus environment. Benefits include greater accountability, transparency and stronger community relationships.
DPS also received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®) on November 13, 2020. This accreditation signifies that DPS has proven that its policy and procedures are in compliance with these standards that are developed by expert public safety practitioners covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives for law enforcement.
