De-Stress with DPS

You still have two more chances to join DPS and the Office of Health Promotions for De-stress During Those Dog Days of Finals! Take a break from studying to come enjoy FREE snacks and a chance to pet therapy dogs from The GO Team Therapy Dogs Syracuse.

You’ll be able to find us on the first floor of Bird Library tonight and tomorrow night from 9 to 11 p.m. We’ll have a quick survey available so you can tell us how you feel about our services and safety on campus.

We’ll also have some advice for relieving stress and plenty of encouragement for the final academic push of the semester!

Public Safety Update: Incident

On Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 2:29 a.m., the Department of Public Safety responded with the Syracuse Police Department to a report of a stabbing incident at 167 Marshall St. Three victims were injured and at least two suspects were seen in possession of knives. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot in a northerly direction from the intersection of Marshall St. and University Avenue.

No Syracuse University students were involved in this incident.

The Department of Public Safety asks for your help in identifying the suspects, if you were in the vicinity at the time of the incident. The only description available at this time is that the suspects are males between 20 and 30 years of age. No clothing or physical descriptions are available at this time.

Public Safety Notice: Incident

On Sunday, September 10,2017, at approximately 2:29 a.m., DPS received a report of a stabbing that occurred at 167 Marshall St. The Syracuse Police Department and the Department of Public Safety are on the scene and investigating this incident. We ask that you stay away from the area, at this time and that you call DPS at 315.443.2224, should you have information regarding this incident. More information to follow.

Public Safety Update: Robbery

On Friday, December 8, 2017, at approximately 9:52 p.m., a student reported, while walking in the 900 block of Comstock Avenue, they were approached by a dark colored vehicle containing four males. One of the males was in possession of a handgun and told the student to give him his money. The student gave the male his money. The vehicle then fled the scene in a northerly direction towards campus. No injuries were reported.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) asks for your help in identifying the suspects, if you were in the vicinity at the time of the incident. For this purpose, the following is the description of the suspects and the vehicle: Male, 16 to 20 in age. The vehicle was a dark colored 4-door sedan. No further description for either.
