The Department of Public Safety is notifying the community that the Syracuse Police Department is currently responding to a non-violent incident near Crouse Hospital resulting in heavy police activity.
DPS is on the scene assisting with traffic control. If possible, please avoid the area to limit additional traffic. Drivers should expect delays if traveling in the area.
At 3 p.m., the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Syracuse Police Department (SPD) responded to a swatting call at Dineen Hall. DPS and SPD quickly made their way through the building and determined there was no threat to the community. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
The area surrounding the Warehouse—located at the intersection of East Fayette Street and South West Street in Downtown Syracuse—has been cleared by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Syracuse Police Department (SPD). Students, faculty, and staff may now resume normal activities.
Please note that an active investigation is still ongoing. As you leave the building, continue to follow any instructions from law enforcement personnel.
