Syracuse University is committed to preventing violence and promoting a campus environment free from behaviors, actions, or language that may cause others to feel physically threatened or in danger; or may result in work disruption, property damage, physical injury, or loss of life; or interfere with the institution’s ability to execute its mission. Safety and security are both personal and shared responsibilities. The collective involvement of every member of the University community is essential to prevention. The mission of the Syracuse University TAMT is to identify and assist at-risk community members who may pose a threat of violence to themselves or others, intervene to avert and/or address the threat and maintain the safety of the situation to reduce risks related to campus violence.
