A 17-year-old individual with no affiliation to Syracuse University is facing several charges after being arrested following a burglary incident that was reported just after 3 a.m. this morning. The same individual is believed to be responsible for several other burglaries in the area.
The Department of Public Safety responded to the 100 block of Lambreth Lane to investigate a burglary complaint. When officers arrived, they observed a person leaving the area in a vehicle. After determining the vehicle was stolen from the 100 block of Small Road, the officers stopped the vehicle on E. Colvin Street. It was then discovered that the suspect had stolen the keys to the vehicle when burglarizing a South Campus apartment.
The suspect was arrested by the Syracuse Police Department and later charged with second degree burglary, fourth degree grand larceny, fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, third degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and second degree criminal impersonation.
